On the right, you see Lance, then Deana, then their adorable kids, one with golden hair and soulful eyes, the other with dark hair and gentle poise.
This is a quick post to say how much FUN I had this weekend at the Trifecta Meetup. Our whole family loved getting to meet Lisa, Tara, Deana, and Lance. The Burson kiddos clicked instantly with Caroline and Sam, and Caroline kidnapped Deana for a walk down the beach collecting seashells. We had beach time, pool time, and restaurant time. I personally downed four Margaritas. Because priorities, as Tara R. explains it. Somehow, we never got around to taking a lot of pictures. Oh well. Next year, we’re hoping to do it in Portland. Scott’s sister lives in Oregon, so we could totally justify that trip. Here’s one of the few photos. Tara R. Got our server Josh to take a click of us at lunch on Saturday.
Jessie Powell is the Jester Queen. She likes to tell you about her dog, her kids, her fiction, and her blog, but not necessarily in that order. |
So cool, Jessie, thanks for posting this. Wish I could have made it. Maybe next year as Portland is on my side of the country. Great photo!
That would so rock. Long live Trifecta!
This is cool. Why didn’t you guys have it in Puerto Vallarta? It would be cheap… think about it! Frequent vacation destinations always have great prices! 😉
p.s. I’m jealous.
Damn. We need to remember that going forward.
We had an amazing time! Thanks for adding to that fun!

Glorious fun.
I wasn’t sure how okay it would be to share my favorite quote of the weekend.
Me: Do you need a tutorial on how to bust into those crab legs?
You: I know HOW to do it. I’m just too drunk to do it.
It was great to meet you and your awesome family. Thanks for making the drive.
xx

Ahaha! Totally OK. It was like every time I went to squeeze the cracker thingie, I was not where I thought on the joint, and then I was somehow picking shell off and forgetting to squeeze on the lemon yet again. And the saddest part is that I had only had un soupçon of alcohol, but I have the alcohol tolerance of a squirrel, so I was totally wasted. The gentle pink hue of my cheeks in that picture is not sunburn. It was the night before that I downed three over the course of six hours and (typically) woke up with no ill after effects. (There is a reason I enjoy my alcohol thoroughly but rarely.)
Aw, this is great! Glad you guys had such a good time. Really wish I could have been there, but I’m so glad you guys blazed this trail. Here’s hoping more of us can make it to Portland next year!

YES! That would be so awesome.
I am jealous!! Wish I could have come but have too many trips going on right now. 🙁 So next year is Portland?? That is on the other side of the country for me…but I have always wanted to visit. I will see what I can come up with. I would love to meet some of the people behind all the words I love so much.
Oh and if I go to the next one you will have way too many pictures. Its kind of one of my things…I am the woman who took 1271 pics in one day on vacation. 🙁

I really would like to participate in Trifecta, but I’m terrified of just jumping in! You all are such good writers!
